Whatever you decide, make sure there’s enough breathing space between your clothes or sections to make it easy to get whatever you need. After all, the purpose of organizing your closet is to base optimize, make your life easier and fulfill your best destiny, not make it more complicated or frustrating.

The last thing you need is to be cramming your jeans on shower hooks in the middle of your wardrobe because you read ‘somewhere’ that you should hang everything.

Dresser/Drawers

For the clothes you keep in your dresser, or pull out drawers in your closet, there are many ways to organize them. Here are some useful tips:

Use drawer dividers for socks, underwear, ties, and bras. This will keep everything neat and tidy and allow you to see at a glance exactly what you’re looking for, instead of having to dig through mounds of confusion for your favorite pair of socks.

Drawer dividers are also very useful for tank tops. Just fold them over once and roll them up. This way, you can see exactly which tank top you need, rather than have them stacked on top of one another.

Do the same with your leggings. Rolling them will allow you to see every pair you own – which, if you’re like me, that’s a lot.

You don’t necessarily have to run out and buy the top of the line drawer dividers – practically anything will do the trick. Shoe boxes work well for bras, bulb ornament boxes work well for socks and underwear and wine boxes work well for shirts and tanks. You can even place PVC piping inside your drawer as organizers for scarves, belts, ties, socks and underwear. The point is that your clothing is organized, not what you use to organize it.
